Now onto the car. It is a 1986 Ford Mustang LX convertible that originally had a 3.8-liter V6 engine with a 4-speed automatic transmission. It was a California car that was shipped to Illinois in 2008 when the engine was removed, and it has sat in a warehouse ever since. The car currently shows 1075 miles but I’m pretty sure that is 101,075 but I guess Ford never expected the car last longer than five digits on the odometer. The floor pans, rockers, frame rails etc. have only minor surface rust at worst. (see pics below) The engine and trans were lost as well as the driveshaft but many of the engine parts are still there. The intake, throttle body, heads, timing cover, exhaust manifolds, accessories, flex plate and lots of other little engine parts come with the car. The interior has some sun fade on the seats and the seats have some wear and some tears. The dashboard is cracked, to console lid is broken and the door pockets are in the trunk. The pump for the power top works but the lines are all disintegrated so no fluid makes it to the pistons, but the top does move manually. The back window and the top covering will need to be replaced. The body has minor dings and scrapes but no major damage. There is some minor rust on the trunk and door seams (pictured). The rear bumper cover and right taillight will need to be replaced. The headlight mounting panel will need to be repaired on the passenger side or replaced. I probably missed a lot so if you want a closer look with more details, check out the video here: https://youtu.be/udbhuBUF2fo

This is a restoration project, but it does have a clean foundation to start with. Put in a drivetrain and build the car you want. I can provide you with a place to find all the parts you will need. If you want to send me updates on the build, I can share them on my social media accounts.
